Guidance on Oracle HCM World Session Submissions

What is Oracle HCM World?

Oracle has created Oracle HCM World to be the industry conference for the HR community to share thought leadership, to connect with peers, and to talk about the changing role of technology in today's business world. While it is an Oracle sponsored conference, we have no intention of this being a product-focused conference.

What content is ideal for sessions at Oracle HCM World?

Customers, partners, educators, analysts, and internal Oracle staff are invited to submit sessions that describe real world business challenges that HR professionals are facing today and the best practices being used to solve those problems. We want to hear about the business value derived from how you are solving the challenges, and the improvements you see or hope to achieve.

Sessions that describe processes that have undergone some level of transformation would be the most beneficial to those attending the conference. Our audience wants to hear about the success you have achieved by implementing new processes and systems and how you have transformed the way your company runs its business and serves its people.

Of particular interest to our audience are your observations of the market today, and how that is changing how you think about your business.

Using mobile and social initiatives within your organization? Tell us what you're doing. Tell us how your workforce is responding to new performance management initiatives, or succession management processes. Do you have a new wellness program? We want to know how extensively you are utilizing new social media formats for your employee sourcing, or marketing your organization in a different way.

It is your story that wants to be heard. Why did you decide to take on that project? What did you hope to achieve? What results did you see? Would you do anything differently today?

Real live case studies about your experiences will provide the most value to attendees.

At Oracle HCM World, it is our hope that we create a community of HR professionals where people want to hear from each other, connect with each other, and build relationships by sharing stories and solutions.

What should I avoid submitting for HCM World?

As mentioned, HCM World is a thought leadership conference and not an Oracle product conference. While we encourage you to present material on how you have been innovative within your organization, how our products have increased your business value, or to hear how you have restructured work to be more efficient and effective for all your employees, or even just a subset of them; we do NOT want to hear about the technical aspects of your implementation. Please focus on the WHY of your project, not the WHAT. We want you to present the reasons why you took on your projects, and what value you gained from going through the process. We do not want the details on your process or the methodology of your SI partner.

Submission and selection logistics

Please have the title and abstract of your session ready to go within the character limit for each (80 character limit for the title and 800 characters for the abstract) before you begin the submission process.

As the submitter of a session, you will be asked to include your contact information, as well as the contact information of your proposed speakers. Please do not submit for any person who has not already agreed to be a speaker on a session. As the submitter, you may also be a speaker. If your session is selected, the submitter and all the speakers will be notified and speakers will be provided instructions for speaker registration. As a speaker, your registration for the conference is complimentary, but not your other travel and expenses.

Sessions may have up to two speakers, or you may request to present a panel session. If your session is selected, you will be asked to provide the additional speaker information for your additional panelists. Panels are limited to a total of 4 presenters, including the moderator. We request that panels only contain one person per company.

By submitting a session proposal, you agree to allow Oracle to publish the submitted content for use associated with the Oracle HCM World conference, as part of both promotional and informational activities. Additional agreements will be requested and required during the registration process as a speaker.
