USE CASE:

Emirates Flight Catering was using “Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service” (BICS) with the “Database Cloud Service – Schema Edition” almost for the last 3 years where they suffered a lot from performance issues and other challenges related to the limitations of BICS and DBCS-Schema.

As the corporate direction to migrate customers from OCI-Classic (Gen1) to OCI (Gen2), then we found it the right opportunity before the 3 years contract renewal to migrate the customer from:

• Inflexible Non-Metered contract to Universal Credits
• Legacy BICS to the strategic Oracle Analytics Cloud Service
• Legacy and limited DBCS-Schema to the most advanced cloud DB -> ADW

The technical use case is about extracting data from different on-premise data sources such as JD Edwards ERP, xls, Non-Oracle Database using ODI, transform it and load it into the centralized Enterprise Data Warehouse that it is still deployed on-premise. Then replicating a subset of the data in the EDWH into the Data Mart which will be stored in Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud Service where Oracle Analytics Cloud will provide the data visualization required for business users.
