JDK 16 for the record(s)

JDK 16 is out. On time... again... are we bored yet?

It's getting hard to remember what having to wait years between releases and new features felt like. Although the release dates are now boringly predictable we continue delivering exciting new features, increased performance, and outstanding reliability that make Java the best choice for future-proofing your system. With JDK 16 we get Records -a new kind of class that help model plain data aggregates with less ceremony. We also added pattern matching for instanceof. As with prior releases JDK 16 gives us a window into future enhancements with another preview for sealed classes, incubator APIs for Foreign Linker and Foreign memory access, and warnings on primitive wrapper classes that should turn into primitive classes in later releases.

In this 30 minute session we will review the 17 JDK Enhancement Proposals (JEPs) in JDK 16 and show you where to find more information on all of them.
