A large number of Oracle SaaS applications are based on the multi-dimensional database management system Essbase, which offer a full range of capabilities to store and analyze your data mainly in the
EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) domain.
In the Oracle history, Essbase began as a product of Arbor Software, which merged with Hyperion Software in 1998. Oracle Corporation acquired Hyperion Solutions Corporation in 2007.
For over 10 years
Oracle Essbase has continued to evolve as a business analytics solution that uses a proven, flexible, best-in-class architecture for analysis, reporting, and collaboration. Both in terms of functional usage and in terms of performance, Oracle Essbase provides a multidimension storage engine not only for on-prem environments, with applications such as Hyperion Planning or Hyperion Financial Management, but also for SaaS applications (Financial Consolidation and Close, Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service, and more)
