Replicate MySQL Database into MySQL Database Service on Oracle Cloud and unleash the power of Cloud Analytics using in-memory acceleration!

2h Hands-On-Lab - 2 live sessions

HeatWave is a new, in-memory query accelerator for MySQL Database Service available in Oracle Cloud. You will not need any additional skills, tools nor costs to move real-time data from your OLTP database into an OLAP database. Benchmark results show that HeatWave is 2.7x faster and 70% cheaper than Amazon Redshift.

The Hands-On-Lab consists of 2 sessions of 2h each. At the end of both sessions you will get a free trial environment fully setup where:
  • MySQL Database Service will be connected for inbound replication to MySQL Database running on a Oracle Compute instance
  • MySQL Database Service powered by HeatWave will be configured and integrated with an external data source to run analytics workloads
After the Hands-On-Lab you will also receive step-by-step tutorials to replicate MySQL Database from AWS to MySQL Database Service on Oracle Cloud; connect MySQL Database Service with Analytics tools such as Oracle Analytics Cloud, Tableau, and Power BI; integrate data from external sources through Oracle Data Integrator Cloud.

Agenda

22 April - 10:30/12:30 CET AM
Secure your data and applications in Oracle Cloud by replicating MySQL Database to MySQL Database Service
During this Hands-On-Lab we will guide you through the following steps leveraging Terraform and Ansible:
  • Access and navigate Oracle Cloud dashboard
  • Create an Oracle Compute Instance and install MySQL Database
  • Create and configure MySQL Database Service
  • Replicate MySQL Database from the Compute instance into MySQL Database Service
4 May - 10:30/12:30 CET AM
Run your Analytics with astonishing performances leveraging HeatWave
During this Hands-On-Lab we will guide you through the following steps:

  • Create and configure MySQL Database Service powered by HeatWave
  • Run OLAP workloads on MySQL Database Service powered by HeatWave
and we will demo:
