Live Workshop: Catch a Fraudster Using Machine Learning

Oracle Machine Learning and APEX are free features of Oracle Databases. In this session, we’ll be running down fraudulent insurance claims, but the same basic principles can be used to get better insights and predictions from your data in multiple use cases.

How do you catch a crook? With data—and the right tools, of course.
In this workshop, we will walk you through a multi-step process for tackling anomaly and fraud detection for automobile insurance claims.

First, we’ll use Oracle Machine Learning’s unsupervised learning algorithms to build predictive models that flag suspicious claims. Then, using an APEX application, our claims investigators will review the suspicious claims and decide whether they’re fraudulent.


Next, we’ll use Oracle Machine Learning to build supervised learning models that use the claim investigators’ determinations to zero in on other likely fraudulent claims.

Finally, we’ll report on, analyze, and investigate our most suspicious claims using APEX and Oracle Analytics Cloud.
