Conrad S. Emmerich is the Senior Vice President and Chief Procurement Office for Atrium Health, headquartered in Charlotte NC. In addition, Emmerich also serves as the President of the Atrium Health Supply Chain Alliance (AHSCA), a group purchasing organization.
In these roles, Emmerich leads Supply Chain functions as well as Laboratory and Imaging Services for the enterprise, supporting more than 3,500 employees in 46 hospitals across four southeastern states. AHSCA provides contracting services to more than 55 hospitals and manages $3 billion in supply and pharmaceutical spending.
Emmerich has 20 years of leadership in the healthcare supply chain. Prior to joining Atrium Health in November of 2020, he was the SVP of Business Services at Wake Forest Baptist Health where he led Supply Chain, Pharmacy, Lab, and Imaging Services along with Clinical Engineering, Food and Nutritional Services, and other functions supporting daily operations of the health system. Emmerich spent 10 years at Wake Forest Baptist Health with progressively increasing roles of responsibility. He previously worked in the University of Florida supply chain, Advent Health supply chain, and with Evanston Northwestern Healthcare in the greater Chicago area.
Notably, Emmerich led the supply chain implementation of Oracle Cloud across the Atrium Health enterprise, the largest deployment of the ERP product at that time. He was recognized by Modern Healthcare as a top 25 Innovator in 2019. Emmerich's implementation of RTLS at Wake Forest Baptist for asset tracking, temperature monitoring, patient throughput, and other workflow efficiencies continues to lead the industry. Emmerich also oversaw the country’s first unmanned aircraft (drone) delivery of a Covid-19 vaccination.
Emmerich reports to both Atrium Health’s Chief Financial Officer and the Enterprise Executive Vice President & President of the Greater Charlotte Region.
Emmerich holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida. Emmerich is highly active in his community of Winston-Salem, NC, sitting on several local boards and supporting not-for-profit organizations. In his personal time, Emmerich finds great joy in sending time with his wife Lisa and their four children.
