Inside Java Newsletter

July 2022

Welcome to the Inside Java Newsletter from the Java Developer Relations team at Oracle. Look for updates directly from the Java Platform Group — the team that builds Java.

We're Getting Close!

JavaOne
As many of you know, after a 5-year hiatus, we are bringing back our flagship Java event, JavaOne. We couldn't be more excited, and we've been working extremely hard to ensure this JavaOne lives up to its name and reputation.

The event is October 17-20 in Las Vegas, and the content, space, and scope of the event will not let anyone down. We're just starting to post the initial sessions online of which there are a variety of formats ranging from standard technical sessions, to hands-on labs, to lightning talks in the theater, and much more. Topics cover everything from language and platform, to tooling, microservices, DevOps, ML, and security, with the common denominator being the Java Platform.

This is a serious practitioners event with a majority being highly technical talks delivered directly from the people who work on the platform. And don't just listen, but interact with the speakers and experts in many of our planned areas such as the "meet the experts" bar and birds-of-a-feather sessions.

While content is critical, it's just one part of what makes a conference great. The experience and "hallway track" is essential and we're working everyday to ensure JavaOne delivers. Engage with the Java team at demo stations, take pictures with Duke, go for a Java Run/Bike ride with other developers, and join us in the many pre and post-conference activities that should make Thirsty Bear thirst for some Las Vegas vibes.
