Oracle Autonomous Database features for supporting application development across cloud services

Developers are increasingly leveraging Oracle's Autonomous Database to seamlessly integrate with various cloud services and internet applications, going beyond the initial loading and unloading of batch transactional data. In many cases, they are utilizing the highly popular low code APEX application development platform to facilitate data exchange with external sources and develop innovative applications. Additionally, the database serves as a robust processing and analytics platform, enabling access to external data and performing in-place data processing for diverse use cases.

In this hands on session we will:

  • Review ADB integration using DBMS_CLOUD and external tables to process external csv and parquet data in Object Storage
  • Explore the use of supplied APEX packages to process parse and process multiple csv files in zipped format in Object Storage
  • Showcase two of ADB's newest features:
  • Persistent Pipes
  • Cloud Links
  • Explore scheduling options including (review) the legacy DBMS_SCHEDULER package and the newer APEX Automations feature
  • Review Database and APEX options for accessing and processing data in remote applications using REST API support
