Blockchain and GDPR. What shall an organization evaluate before using the Blockchain technology in the context of Personal Data processing?”

Blockchain has found its value in pretty much every domain. Blockchain is about trusted, tamper-proof and encrypted transactions so the strong link with security best practices is evident to everyone. But what about the usage of the Blockchain technology in the context of personal data processing and the European Regulation 679/2016 "on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data"?

In this seminar our GDPR and Blockchain experts will
  • make a short overview of three key aspects of the GDPR regulation that are to be taken into account when it comes to build a blockchain environment - the data protection impact assessment, the security of processing and the rights of the data subjects
  • make a short recap of the key blockchain features potentially overlapping the GDPR requirements as per above
  • discuss few scenarios related to the use personal data in a blockchain environment and discuss what's possible to do and what is not advisable to do
