John H. Pierce is senior vice president, design and construction, for the Rockefeller Group, responsible for overseeing the department’s operations and delivery of design and construction services on a national basis. Pierce has extensive experience in real estate operations, construction, and project management throughout the United States and Latin America, having worked for several of the leading companies in construction, financial services, and development. Pierce was most recently vice president of real estate and facilities for Phoenix House, a nonprofit substance abuse treatment organization with more than three dozen locations spanning 12 states and the District of Columbia. Prior to joining Phoenix House, he was vice president and regional manager for Turner Construction’s Latin American operations from 2003 to 2012, responsible for providing real estate and facilities consulting services throughout Central and South America. From 1997 to 2002, Pierce was an executive director with Morgan Stanley, responsible for global space planning, infrastructure, and capital projects. He joined Morgan Stanley after serving for seven years as a construction executive with Hines. He began his career with Turner Construction, where combined with his more recent experience, he worked for a total of 15 years in construction and project management roles. Pierce holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, is a licensed real estate professional in New Jersey, and an active member of IFMA, UIL, ASCE, RICS, and the ACE Mentor Program of America. In addition to his professional experience, Pierce has served on various philanthropic and educational boards and committees for organizations and institutions including Habitat for Humanity, Urban Assembly High School for Design and Construction, and Lafayette College.
