Oracle Database 19c Upgrade Virtual Classroom Series: Migrate to Multitenant Architecture

Calendar

2 July 2020
10.00 a.m. - 11.30 a.m. (BST)
11.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. (CEST)

Oracle Database 19c is the final release to support the non-CDB (Container Database) architecture. Now is the time to start planning and migrating your databases in to the Multitenant architecture introduced in 12cR1.
Oracle Multitenant allows a higher degree of database consolidation than has been previously possible. This leads to several benefits including:

• Reduction in hardware required
• Greater resource sharing and less silos
• Agile database provisioning
• New Upgrade and Patching options
• Scalable management features

In this session we will cover the basics of the Multitenant architecture: What is a container? What is a pluggable database and how do you use them? How does management change in this new world? How do you develop a fallback plan?
Finally, we’ll discuss Multitenant best practices – including how to use the 3 “free” Pluggable Databases in every Oracle Database 19c.

Oracle Database 19c Upgrade Virtual Classroom Series
