Nicolai Sehested
Helmsman
Denmark SailGP Team

Biography: At just 30, Nicolai Sehested is one of Denmark’s leading sailors – and the youngest helmsman on the start line for SailGP Season 2. Having competed in some of the sport’s most challenging events – including two editions of The Ocean Race – and recorded over 100 regattas wins across a range of classes and disciplines, Nicolai set the 24-hour speed record in 2018, racing over 602 miles across the Atlantic Ocean onboard team AkzoNobel. The young Dane has carved out a solid reputation as a skilled and driven operator behind the wheel, and now proudly leads the first ever Danish entry in SailGP.

Peter Wibroe
Data Scientist
Denmark SailGP Team

Biography: Meet Peter Wibroe: expert Data Analyst and Denmark SailGP Team’s resident number-cruncher, who spends his time wading through SailGP’s vast amounts of data and reading between the lines, in search of every possible advantage. Peter holds a PhD in Nano Medicine and is a self-confessed geek who loves numbers and the challenge of finding patterns in large and confusing data sets. He sees his role as similar to that of a translator – and explains that 'the answer to everything is in the data, but we just need to understand what language it's written'. Peter has a background in competitive sail racing and competed in the 2014-15 edition of The Ocean Race alongside Denmark SailGP Team stars Nicolai Sehested and Tom Johnson onboard Team Vestas Wind.
