In this session, we will take you through real-life use cases being employed by grid operators similar to CKI's companies in ANZ to deliver improved safe and reliable grid operations, asset utilization and investment prioritization.

The Electric Vehicle Paradigm
This session will review the current state of Electric Vehicle adoption in Australia and other parts of the world and what some utilities are doing to proactively address the impacts on their infrastructure.

We’ll explore how EV detection using deep-learning and associated insights can help electricity distributors get ahead of the curve regarding asset investments and proactive customer engagement programs for smart charging to improve asset utilization without overloads. There are some key learnings for how EV detection/ uptake fits into an overall strategy for DERMs.

Fire Season is upon us in ANZ - Data Driven Use cases for Machine Learning
This session will take detailed look at three use-cases where energy distributors are leveraging big-data analytics and AI to achieve operational efficiencies and reduce the risk profile of catastrophic failure event.

Specifically, we’ll look at how Mississippi Power Storm Damage Prediction POC, Southern California Edison Field Device Failure Prediction POC, and San Diego Gas & Electric delivering benefits through load and DER output and the related failure predictions associated with asset health and network reliability.

Bradley Williams has more than 24 years of utility technology innovation experience. Prior to joining Oracle, he was a research director for Gartner’s Energy and Utilities Industry Advisory Services, focusing on utility applications of GIS, SCADA/EMS/DMS, outage and work management, and transmission and distribution (T&D) asset management research.

Prior to that, he directed PacifiCorp’s T&D asset management developed and implemented comprehensive IT investment programs. As director of T&D infrastructure planning, he was responsible for PacifiCorp’s sub transmission planning, telecommunications, and operations technology development groups. Williams also worked at Southern California Edison for 10 years, where he was involved in transmission system planning, distribution automation, and reliability programs. Brad Lives in USA.
