More AI summaries…

More potential confusion. The newest addition is Yahoo Mail’s “Catch Up” feature, which provides AI summaries of emails as the inbox provider encourages users to triage their inbox as quickly as possible. Given the somewhat mixed track record of AI summaries, brands will want to maximize their chances of having their email’s content portrayed accurately by leaning into the best practice of using as much HTML text as possible. In most cases, alt text is ignored by AI summary engines, and graphical text is always ignored. And with AI summaries replacing preview text, you’ll want to ensure your subject line can stand on its own and is descriptive and front‑loaded with meaning.

Say What?

“The level of personalization should increase as you move down the sales funnel. So, while Interest & Consideration stage messaging is likely best sent under your brand name and heavily designed, much of the Evaluation & Conversion stage messaging is probably best sent dynamically from the local sales rep and be text only.”
