AI summaries are regularly misrepresenting email content…

So, it’s more vital than ever for marketers to communicate with clarity. First and foremost, have a clear subject line that can stand on its own, since Google’s Deal Cards and Highlights and Apple’s AI Summaries replace your preview text. And then in the body of the email, use simple language and large text to communicate each offer or message. That’s doubly true of your primary message block’s content, since that’s most often the target of AI summaries. We’ve seen dates and discount offers routinely conveyed incorrectly by AI summaries—and witnessed much worse mistakes, too. Communicating clearly may improve the accuracy of AI summaries, but even if it doesn’t, your subscribers should be able to tell at a glance what you’re really offering.

Say What?

“The great news is we’ve been seeing design trends move toward larger text, with many brands upping their body copy size to the range of 18 to 22 pixels. While these trends may be following the aesthetic styles of the moment, it has the added benefit of making text more accessible and legible for many.”
