Oracle Marketing Consulting: Issue 106

In an unprecedented collaboration…

Gmail and Yahoo have jointly released new sender standards that bulk senders need to comply with if they want to continue to enjoy strong inbox placement. We’ve discussed the 4 requirements in detail , but the thing that’s perhaps most notable about these requirements is how non-earth-shattering they are to our clients. It’s a testament to the high standard they operate at that most of them are already 100% in compliance with these mandates. That said, this announcement should cause every marketer to reexamine their authentication, unsubscribe processes, and spam complaint rates. There are always opportunities to do better and the bar is always being raised by consumers and inbox providers.

Say What?

“Many of the most popular words used in holiday campaign subject lines fall into six categories: urgency, occasion, savings, abundance, status, and sentiment. All of those categories and words may not be appropriate for your organization, but look at each category and consider which words might be the most relevant to your audience.”
